Restaurants in Castelfranco Veneto. Make sure you check the opening times of the Duomo as it closes for lunch at I am sure he must have gone home for lunch when he was doing the painting!! Outstanding masterpiece of art, in this small but beautiful theatre. I have been there multiple times for music show, theatrical representation since the sound is perfect.
You may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go. Parking our cute little silver Volvo, 28 February , on the Piazza Giorgione at the northern end of the centro storico of Castelfranco Veneto, with grey rain dampening an otherwise festive street market. Castelfranco , about halfway along our short drive to Treviso 30km farther on, was built as a military fortress by the Trevisans, begun in about and completed by , to safeguard their western frontier in their long struggle against Padua Padua responded by building its own fortress, in , the present town of Cittadella , 11km to the west of here. The old town of Castelfranco, within the original city walls, is still bounded by a moat on this side of town, with actual water in it. The name indicates that the castle and its dependents were 'franked' or exempt from certain taxes and duties and that it could hold grain and livestock markets. We're processing down the north-south thoroughfare, Garibaldi Street naturally, towards the Duomo.
The Restaurant is not easy to spot as it is off the street down a pathway that runs past the side of the bar. I was in Castelfranco with my wife on a warm Friday night in late May, hence all bars and restaurants around This is a review of the hotel, not the restaurant. I'm not one to write bad reviews usually, however I felt this particular experience warrants it. My mother booked our accommodation over the phone, as she can speak fluent Italian. When she booked the Flights Vacation Rentals Restaurants Things to do.

Some believe that Treviso derived its name from the Celtic word "tarvos" mixed with the Latin ending "isium" forming "Tarvisium". Others believe it comes from a word from the language of a tribe who first came to Treviso.

Things to do in Castelfranco Veneto. We came and had dinner. During the two hours the restaurant was empty. The decoration is Kitsch and old-fashioned much as the padrone whom you find on wall photographs with local illustrissimi. The waiters were very kind, the food medium to low. It's evidently a place for weddings not for dinning.
