It was a summer night in Seattle. I ate some ice-cream, watched a Youtube tutorial, and downloaded a free trial of Principle. Several months later, I completed my 5th day-project — Days of Motion. I started my first day-project back in For me, day-project is a creative outlet. It allows me to express myself through art. The joy of creation and the challenge of learning a new craft always keeps me coming back for more.
Hey there, I've searched the forums and have had some luck in my search, just doubke checking and making sure. I have an Illustrartor file of a flat balloon shape that I created just an oval shape with a triangle bit and I plan to import this into After Effects. How do I attach a string to this balloon and give it a very subtle waving motion as the balloon raises raises in a straight line? I was thinking it would be easiest to create a thin rectangle shape in After Effects itself, for the string and then use the Puppet Tool to connect it to the end of the balloon - then simply add a wiggle effect. Am I completly wrong? Report Post.
You need to tweak some parameters to make it look correct: for instance, balloons have lower density and higher bounciness coefficient. The little squares that simulate the ropes can only collide with the walls. I wanted the ropes to start from a unique point, but animated freely when the hand releases them. At the end of keyframes animation, when bodies become dynamic, ropes move independently! Creating the ropes was made easy by the use of the Rope feature of Connect Layers.

Hello everyone, Im trying to achieve a balloon rising effect like the one seen in Disney's Up. Its for a title sequence for a wedding and I want it to be a 2D effect as opposed to 3D balloons. I want the movement to be realistic as opposed to achieving a photo-real look. If anything I want the effect to have a flat textured look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
